A Resource Guide to School Counseling for Parents
School children throughout time have had to face several problems. In past generations, it may have been the fact that children needed to leave school at a young age to work at the family farm or in a local factory to help. Today, children face questions relating to bullying, cyberbullying, families splitting up and a host of other problems.
While the types of problems that children face may have changed over time, the basic problems still exist. Children face issues at home, in school and need direction for the future. These challenges are faced every day by school counselors. Counselors work with children and parents to provide guidance on these problems.
This article will not take the place of talking with your school counselor. However, we have put together several helpful links on a variety of common topics. Hopefully, this will be a starting point for parents and students to provide basic information, so that you can speak with your school counselor. We hope this information is useful for you.
